Why do you exist?

This is something I bet every morning at least half of the planets population asks themselves before carrying on with their day. You know how you got here cause mom and dad explained it when you were younger and you know what happens to you when you make the exit, but what about all that time in between?

Your told in high school that you need to figure out now what you plan on doing your whole life, and most college grads let alone college drop outs fail, because they travel the rushed path. Your job is not your purpose, your job keeps the internet on so you can find articles like this to figure out the answer to that question. Your education is not all of your knowledge, just another addition to your mental library and what your mom and dad do may not necessary be what you do or why you even exist! So what is purpose and most importantly, yours?

Your purpose should wake you up every morning and keep you up late the next night. Your purpose should give you an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for your existence. I can tell you from experience though, that no matter what it is, I am willing to bet it some how helps other people. Some people have children and their children change the world outward, but it started with one person unselfishly, passionately helping another. Some people create technology that makes them rich over night, but no matter what has been created, it helps other people in some way. Some folks are Doctors, Teachers, Musicians, Construction Workers, Priests, Visionaries and Speakers that all help other people, and the best ones, the ones that stand out, usually love what they do and have found their purpose in it.

If you’re reading this article you more than likely aren’t working a job that is considered your purpose, so why work it? I know I know, “But I have bills that needs paid” and “The landlord doesn’t take I.O.U’s” but that’s exactly the thinking keeping you from getting to your life purpose. Think of the time you spend at your job and what you actually get from it outside of monetary gain? (and I use the word “gain” lightly). The only difference is the place you work provides the building, the services and basically contracts you to keep it running, that has purpose, but is not THE purpose. Unless you plan on climbing the corporate ladder and that is your purpose, I don’t think that working any longer is a good idea. What about the people you keep around? Do they have a hunger for purpose, or just living in the Y.O.L.O motto? Do they uplift you to get and to be more?

I could name a hundred ways to improve your life, but that is not the point, (of this article at least). You just need to take baby steps at getting to and fulfilling your purpose starting with the company you keep, the things you do and how you think. Don’t stress it too much either, what is meant to be will be, and that just might be your purpose.
